Here are a few of the things we have done on our wellbeing days...
The staff took part in Big Team Challenge where we grouped together in seperate teams and competed against each other to complete a set route which started over the February half term and concluded at the end of March. At just the half point mark we had collectively walked over 14 million steps, massive congratulations to anyone who took part!
The past 12 months have been challenging for schools all across the UK, but we are especially proud of how our staff have carried on with your childs interest at the heart of everything they have done.
As part of our ongoing staff wellbeing work and commitment, a selection of staff have been involved with a health screening pilot programme. The Workplace Health and Wellbeing screenings from Business Health Matters have been delivered by qualified gym and leisure centre staff and will assess staff members:
We took part in a school wide Kindness Week (14th-18th November) where the students decorated a tree with their acts of Kindness and staff took part in a 'Random Act of Kindness' to each other. Each member of staff was allocated another member of staff to perform a random act of kindness to.
As part of ‘Thank a Teacher Day’, in recognition of the outstanding staff at the school, an ice cream van was arranged for all staff to enjoy a Mr Whippy cone.
Here are a few pictures from the day...
In order to protect our staff and their family’s health and wellbeing, the staff at Accrington Academy have all been offered a free flu vaccination with the additional convenience of receiving this at an in-school clinic. The uptake has been very positive and we are confident of a happy and healthy workforce over the coming winter months. Smiles all round!
A great start to the week for Accrington Academy staff with the weekly communication briefing and complimentary breakfast.
We pride ourselves on a culture that consistently celebrates staff, we acknowledge how inspiring it is to receive a thank you or shout out and equally uplifting to show our own appreciation to our colleagues.
