Places at Accrington Academy are open to students of all abilities and all faiths. We follow a strict admissions criteria found within the Admissions Policy.

How to apply

Applications for Year 7 place (2025-26)

If you would like to apply for a Year 7 place for your child at Accrington Academy to begin in September 2025 you must complete the online Lancashire County Council Application Form. Information regarding the completion of the form can be obtained from your child’s primary school or from the council offices. Parents will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application. In Year Admissions

Applications for in-year admissions - to move your child to our Academy (Y7-11)
If your child is currently in Years 7-11 at another school and you would like to enquire about how to apply to move your child to our Academy, firstly please click this link and read the further information provided by the local authority. You will also need to complete our Academy in-year transfer form. If you require a hard copy of this form, these can be requested by telephone on 01254 304300 ext. 397

We operate a waiting list for admissions in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. If a space becomes available, it is allocated from this waiting list, according to the over subscription criteria found in our Admissions Policy below.

We will notify you of a decision in writing as to whether or not you have been successful in securing a place. Should you be unsuccessful you do have the right to appeal. Details of this process can be found in the admission policy below.
