Colleges

All students within the Academy are attached to one of four Colleges and have a College Tutor who they see each day. In year 7 students are kept in college tutor groups of the same age. This allows us to really get to know them and their individual needs. In year 8 many of our students start GCSEs and other courses. At this point our tutor groups become mixed with students from years 8 to 11. Students from older year groups really help younger students develop and succeed. Our Colleges and tutor groups allow students to belong to a pastoral family, where students from all ages support one another and participate in a variety of enrichment opportunities. Students will also have a personal tutor who will meet with them regularly to review both academic and personal progress. Each College is managed by a Director of Learning, who is supported by a Pastoral Manager.

There is regular contact between the Academy and home, and parents receive full and interim reports in addition to parent consultation evenings.
