Homework
All of our students are set homework on a daily basis and have a personal planner in which to record this. We provide students with a homework timetable in September so they know which subjects will be set as homework each day.
Students in Years 7 and 8 are expected to spend about one hour per night on homework. This will increase from Year 9 as students start to prepare for external accreditation courses and examination coursework.
In addition to regular homework all students in Key Stage 3 complete an extended project each half term to focus on independent learning skills.
Our Learning Resource Centre is open at lunchtime and after school each day for students to read for pleasure, research and to complete homework.
Parents are requested to help monitor homework by checking the planner and asking to see the work that their child is doing. Parents are encouraged to help support their child's learning by sitting with them. If you are concerned about homework issues, please contact your child's College Tutor to discuss this.
