“Fame!”
Auditions are being held next half term for Accrington Academy’s production of “Fame!”
First known and loved in the eighties as a film, musical and TV series, its enduring appeal led to it being re-made and the new film version hit cinemas last year.
The show tells the stories of a group of students at New York’s infamous High School for the Performing Arts, following them as they try to balance their studies, love lives and dreams of becoming famous. With a mix of comedy, light-hearted fun and serious issues, it’s no wonder that “Fame!” is still popular almost thirty years on.
The show will be on in November 2010. Students from all years, including the Sixth Form are invited to try out for parts so to all the singers, dancers and actors out there keep a look out for the posters giving dates and times for the auditions. If being centre stage isn’t your thing, we’ll also need a strong back-stage crew helping with sound, music, lighting, props, costumes and make-up.
So if you want people to remember your name long after you leave the Academy, be a part of “Fame!”
